Research
The research at the Division of Machine Elements is focused on experiments combined with simulation approaches to explain physical phenomena occurring in machine components and to formulate models that can be used to develop future low-emission high performing intelligent machine components and to reach the SDGs.

Ongoing research projects:
- Effigears which deals with improved efficiency in gears for electric vehicles with the aid of surface treatments. More about Effigears on Vinnova's website.
- nPETS which deals with nanoparticle emissions from the transport sector. More about nPETS on the website of Cordis.
- Nescup which is about how non-exhaust sources contribute to ultrafine particulate emissions
- TED which is about developing transmission components for electrified drivelines that provide light, compact and quiet drivelines with low friction losses and long service life. More about TED on Vinnova's website.
